A microfilter is a small device that plugs into your normal BT telephone socket and splits the line into both a standard BT telephone socket and a ADSL broadband socket.

You will need to install a microfilter in every phone socket that is in use, not just the one that your router is connected to. That means that all phones, fax machines, satellite TV boxes and alarm systems that share the phone line will need to have a microfilter fitted in their telephone line socket.
